The volume identifies and analyses the experiences of selected European (post-)coal regions currently undergoing a process of just energy transition — the Midlands, Stara Zagora and Lusatia — while also examining how these experiences may be used to formulate recommendations for Poland’s coal regions. The analysis confirms that there is no universal model of just transition. Furthermore, just transition cannot be equated solely with the phasing out of coal-mining activities and the development of renewable energy sources.
